Airline ticket: $388.00
Food and drinks: $64.47
Gas : $10
Taxi cab: $28.20
Yikes! That damn airline ticket and unexpected hotel costs is what killed the budget. The airline budget was my fault. I procrastinated and I hemmed and I hawed. When I found a really good deal, I procrastinated some more. I can’t even remember the reason why. I’m still kicking myself for that because the deal I failed to snag was round trip on priceline.com for $234!
As for the hotel in Vegas. That expense along with the cab fare could have been avoided if I was willing to sleep on the airport floor. I couldn’t wrap my head around that idea so an extra $65 went blowing out into the desert sky.
My gracious host and her mother’s home cooking is what helped keep my overhead costs low. Oh man can that woman cook. Mama can whip it up in 20 minutes! Collard greens, fried cream corn, mac and cheese, yams, chicken, a big tub of banana pudding, corn bread… oh I know I’m forgetting some stuff here. But you get the idea. Also majority of my transportation was provided by my friend as well. (Thank you, Alesia!!)
Would I do it again? In a heartbeat. I’d buy that airline ticket a month before like I was supposed to!
This $388 was the most expensive airline ticket I’ve ever brought. *SMH* What was your most expensive airline purchase? Leave a comment and let me know. I’m curious.
