A lot of people forget this simple tip when it comes to travel overseas. Before you depart, call your bank & credit card companies and inform them that you’ll be out of the country. Provide to them the names of specific countries and travel dates.
Neglecting to do this might lead to your bank putting a freeze on any ‘suspcious’ purchases that they have assumed fraudulent.
One client of mine’s card was declined even before she left the country! I was arranging some excursions for them when the transaction was rejected.
The last thing you’d want is to be stuck overseas without any access to your cash. Really.
