Since Neely’s isn’t in DC (yet!!!), I decided to get creative and make my own version of the green tomato sangria. I’ve already asked the Neely’s (or whoever manages their twitter account) for a recipe and they were tight lipped. (Of course!)
This is what I have come up with:
White wine, sparkling wine, citrus, green tomatoes,thyme, and a few other libations. I think they used basil at the restaurant but I’d really have to go back and taste it again the next time I’m in the city.
Verdict: It taste pretty good!! But no dice. It doesn’t match the Neely’s recipe. It was close tho. Or at least as close as I can remember.
Have you been to Neely’s BBQ Parlor? What did you think of the menu items? My *surprise* favorite item was the fried pickle chips.
