If you are the type to get lost easily or forget directions, take pictures of signs. This came in handy when I had to take multiple trains to the airport during my last NYC trip.
Another time, I checked into a hotel room. Most hotel keys/cards don’t have the room number on them. I took a quick picture of the room number and that information came in handy when the towel guy at the pool asked for my room number.
